Ensuring Cultural and Linguistic Competence

Ensuring Cultural and Linguistic Competence provides community members with a brief overview of cultural and linguistic competence (CLC), including distinctions between the two. Standards 10-12 of the National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards are discussed within the context of local systems of care. These standards explore how to evaluate practices within a local system of care to determine to what extent services are culturally and linguistically appropriate. Resources are provided to help guide communities to develop and strengthen CLC initiatives in their local systems of care.
